PLAYBACK SCHEDULE FOR STATE SEEDING

AAAA

FOR 5^TH, 6^TH, 7^TH 8^TH SEEDS, PLAY DATES WILL BE

March 2 & 5

Losers of the Quarter-finals will play each other in the following manner: The loser of game # 125 will play the loser of game # 126 and the loser of #127 will play the loser of game #128 on Wednesday, March 2nd . The winner of the games will play for 5^th & 6^th places and the losers of those games will play for 7^th & 8^th places on Saturday, March 5^th at a site to be determined. Game #’s can be found on the brackets on the District Website.

FOR 3RD AND 4^TH SEEDS

March 5 Losers of the semi-finals will play for 3^rd & 4^th places at a Neutral Site.

FOR THE 9^TH SEED

February 26, March 2 & 4

On, Saturday, February 26^th the losers of game #117 and 118, of #119 and 120, of 121 and 122 and of 123 and 124 will play each other at the site of the higher seed in a single game elimination format. On Wednesday, March 2nd, the winner of 117/118 will play the winner of 119/120 and the winner of 121/122 will play the winner of 123/124. On Friday, March 4^th, the winner of the games played on March 3^rd will play the 9^th spot at a site to be determined.

AAA & A

FOR 3^RD SEED

March 5

The 3^rd place in AAA classification will be determined on Saturday, March 5^th and for A Classification on Friday, March 4^th by a game between the losers of their semi-finals at a site to be determined.

SITES/TIMES: The District Committee has approved the Home Court advantage to top seeded teams prior to the semi- final round in all classifications. The Home Court advantage will be granted provided that it meets agreed upon conditions approved by the District One Basketball Committee.

All classifications will play their semi-final games as a doubleheader at a neutral site.

All playback games will be played at the home of the higher seeded team with the exception of any game that will determine qualifying for the State Tournament.

(AAAA 9^th seed and A & AA 3^rd seeds).

Afternoon – Single Game 1 P.M.

Double Header 1 P.M. & 2:30 P.M.

Evening Single Game - 7 P.M.

Double Header - 6 P.M. & 7:30 P.M.

METHOD OF SEEDING

The seeding of teams participating District Basketball Tournament is determined by a Power Rating System (defined below). Each classification will have a specific final play date after which the teams will have their power rating average computed.

All of the schools on your schedule are now included in the calculations,

not just PIAA schools

THE POWER RATING is determined by dividing the sum of the win points, schedule points, and bonus points by the number of the games you played.
